Karnataka BJP Accuses Siddaramaiah of Favoring Muslims

Hubballi, Dec 14 (NationPress) Karnataka BJP MLA Aravind Bellad criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday for what he termed as his appeasement politics, asserting that he has a particular affection for the Muslim community.

“Siddaramaiah exhibits a special love for Muslims while issuing lathi charges against us. He seems to admire the rioters who set fire to the police station in Hubballi. He also has a fondness for those involved in the DJ Halli and KG Halli violence in Bengaluru. Furthermore, he expresses admiration for individuals who planted the cooker bomb, yet he targets peaceful protesters,” stated Bellad regarding the reservation issue concerning the Panchamasali Lingayat under the 2A category.

He further claimed that Siddaramaiah intends to strip the reservation quota from all other communities and bestow it upon Muslims.

“Siddaramaiah is proficient at deceit. How can the granting of reservation be labeled as an unconstitutional act? Siddaramaiah should publish a White Paper. He should declare that he will not provide reservations to Lingayats, Vokkaligas, and Marathas. The reservation for Muslims violates the Constitution,” he asserted.

He continued by stating that Siddaramaiah appears to believe that only Muslim demands should be addressed, and he has allowed only Muslims the privilege to raise questions.

“We do not trust that the Congress government will grant us reservation. The entire responsibility for the lathi charge incident, where Panchamasali Lingayat protesters were assaulted, lies with Siddaramaiah,” he claimed.

Bellad further asserted that the ultimate goal of Siddaramaiah and the Congress government is to appease Muslims.

“They show no respect towards the Hindu community and seem to have forgotten that Hindus voted for them. The government only seems concerned with the Muslim community. We are not against the government supporting Muslims. However, there are other communities in the state as well. If all the funds and reservations are allocated to the Muslim community, what will happen to us?” he questioned.

He pointed out that the total reservation of 36 percent is designated for the OBCs, out of which 23 percent is allocated to the Muslim community.

“The Constitution clearly states that there shall be no religious reservation. If 23 percent reservation is granted to Muslims, where does that leave others? The Muslim reservation should be distributed among Marathas, Vokkaligas, and Lingayats,” he concluded.
