Bengaluru, Aug 8 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has raised concerns regarding Rahul Gandhi's lack of response to the recent stampede tragedy that resulted in the loss of 11 lives. They also highlighted the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scandal implicating CM Siddaramaiah and the ongoing tribal welfare scam.
In reaction to the protests led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi against alleged electoral misconduct, the BJP took to the X social media platform to pose 13 pointed questions to him.
Gandhi is currently spearheading a protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Friday, aimed at addressing claims of electoral fraud while submitting a memorandum to the State Election Commission.
The BJP stated, "While you are exercising your constitutional right to protest, we request straightforward and reasonable answers to these pressing questions that concern the people of Karnataka. The citizens have been waiting far too long for your responses on these critical issues."
"These are not just political claims; they represent the daily struggles faced by the people of Karnataka during your administration's 18-month tenure. The electorate demands fact-based answers on these pressing realities," the BJP contended.
"The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has uncovered a scandal involving the illegal diversion of Rs 187 crore from Maharshi Valmiki Corporation, which was misappropriated to finance election campaigns for the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Apart from Minister Nagendra's resignation linked to this scandal, your government has taken no further action. Will you not apologize for the Congress party's misuse of funds meant for the welfare of Scheduled Tribes for party purposes?" the BJP inquired.
"Silicon City Bengaluru is literally deteriorating, with your Brand Bengaluru initiative transforming it into 'Bad Bengaluru'. Incomplete flyovers, damaged pedestrian paths, and potholes — the city is falling apart. Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar seems more focused on securing the Chief Minister's position than on Bengaluru's development. Will you not apologize to the citizens for turning their city into a nightmare?" the BJP remarked.
During the RCB victory celebration, an event was organized despite police warnings, leading to the tragic deaths of 11 innocent individuals due to the reckless actions of Congress supporters. "Will you not apologize to the people of Karnataka for this tragic incident linked to the Congress government?" the BJP challenged.
The MUDA scam, labor kit scam, housing scam, excise license renewal scam, and the alleged demand for Rs 200 crore in bribes from wine merchants indicate that corruption under your administration has reached alarming heights. "Is this the 'marketplace of corruption' you have established under the guise of fighting hate?" the BJP questioned.
"Since the Congress government took charge in Karnataka, instances of drug trafficking and terrorism have surged. The Gujarat ATS arrested an Al-Qaeda terrorist hiding in Bengaluru, and the Mumbai police discovered a drug manufacturing unit in Mysuru. Yet, none of this has been detected by the Karnataka police. Will you not apologize for your government's failures in internal security and intelligence?" the BJP stated.
"Your Deputy Chief Minister, D.K. Shivakumar, has claimed that amendments to the Constitution will be made to provide reservations for minorities. Do you endorse your Deputy's views? Will you apologize for your attempts to alter the Constitution crafted by Babasaheb Ambedkar?" the party queried.
"In a bid to maintain your vote bank, your government has dismissed legal cases against numerous individuals involved in violent riots in DJ Halli, KG Halli in Bengaluru, and Udayagiri in Mysuru. Are you aligned with the law-abiding citizens or those who break it? Will you not apologize to the people for supporting violent rioters and those linked to terrorism?" the BJP asked.
"By reallocating the Rs 40,000 crore grant originally designated for the welfare of Scheduled Castes to minority welfare, your administration has betrayed the Scheduled communities. When do you plan to apologize to our Scheduled Caste brethren and restore their rightful funds?" the BJP pressed.
"Since your party's ascent to power in 2023, prices for essential items such as electricity, milk, and fuel have soared, causing hardship for every Kannadiga. Will you not apologize to them for this burden?" the BJP questioned.
"By appointing a minister who is illiterate in Kannada as the Education Minister, your government has plunged Karnataka's educational sector into crisis. The administration has become so financially constrained that it cannot provide basic necessities like shoes, socks, or uniforms for students. While the BJP government had a surplus, you have depleted it and led Karnataka towards bankruptcy. Will you apologize to the citizens for this?" the BJP asserted.
"Under your governance, atrocities against women from Scheduled Tribes and marginalized communities have escalated. Disturbing incidents in Belagavi and Bagalkot against women from disadvantaged backgrounds reveal a disgraceful reality. Yet, justice remains elusive for these victims. When will you address these atrocities against women?" the BJP challenged Rahul Gandhi.
"Due to your government's detrimental policies affecting farmers, such as fertilizer sales at Kalasanthe, many farmers have been driven to suicide. Yet, your ministers are unresponsive. Will you not apologize to the farmers of the state? Under your Congress administration, prices for milk, curd, electricity, and registration fees have doubled, burdening the poor and middle classes. Will you not apologize to them?" the BJP questioned.
