Bengaluru, April 24 (NationPress) Numerous Muslim organizations from Karnataka have expressed their complete support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in ensuring that the individuals responsible for the Pahalgam attack face severe consequences, deterring future acts of violence.

“We are united with our nation and the Prime Minister. We endorse any measures he deems necessary. The culprits must receive rigorous punishment, and a comprehensive investigation into security failures is essential,” stated Hazrat Moulana Mufti Iftekar Ahmed Qasmi, President of Jamiat Ulama Hind, Karnataka, in an interview with IANS.

He emphasized that every citizen holds value to their homeland.

“We prioritize humanity over religion. The heartbreaking loss of numerous lives has left the entire country in mourning. The Pahalgam attack raises critical concerns regarding our security and intelligence protocols. This signifies a significant lapse on our part. We witnessed a similar incident in Pulwama previously. As summer approaches, Kashmir becomes a popular destination for visitors from all over India. Given its sensitive nature, it is evident that security measures were inadequate. We mourn for those who have lost their lives,” he remarked.

He noted that the nation has already initiated some preliminary actions and is hopeful for even stricter measures in the future.

Meanwhile, the Chief Imam of Jamia Masjid, Bengaluru, Moulana Mohammed Maqsood Imran Rashadi, advocated for the government to provide Rs 1 crore in compensation to the deceased victims' families, along with job opportunities and additional support services.

“The perpetrators must face consequences to ensure they never act again. The Pahalgam incident has stunned the entire nation. Terrorism knows no religion, and we stand firm in that belief. The sorrow extends beyond the families of the 26 victims; the entire nation shares their grief,” Rashadi stated during a press briefing at the Bengaluru Press Club.

“Having visited the site myself, I can attest to the presence of security checks and military personnel; yet, this grave tragedy unfolded. We cannot fathom how this was allowed to happen. We urge the Union Home Minister and the Prime Minister to launch a thorough investigation and ensure those responsible face severe repercussions to prevent any future occurrences,” he implored.

“How did the attackers infiltrate and execute such a despicable act? What emboldened them? Reports indicate over eight lakh military personnel are stationed in the area. Security is present at every corner, yet they managed to carry out the attack and escape. This reality deeply distresses me,” he concluded.

At least 26 tourists lost their lives on Tuesday when armed gunmen opened fire on innocent civilians in Baisaran, Jammu and Kashmir.

Eyewitnesses reported that a group of heavily armed assailants emerged from nearby forests and opened fire indiscriminately on civilians, primarily tourists.

Baisran is a quaint meadow located three to four kilometers from the Pahalgam market, accessible to tourists via horses as there is no motorable road.

Prime Minister Modi returned to New Delhi on Wednesday morning after shortening his trip to Saudi Arabia in response to the terror attack.

He briefly met with NSA Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri at the airport. PM Modi strongly denounced the terror attack on Tuesday, assuring that justice will be served, while reaffirming India’s “unwavering” commitment to combat terrorism.
