Bengaluru, April 9 (NationPress) In light of comments made by the Economic Advisor to the Chief Minister, Basavaraj Rayareddy, regarding Karnataka being the top state for corruption, BJP state President B.Y. Vijayendra asserted on Wednesday that the Congress MLA has revealed the dark side of this government’s corruption.

Rayareddy, during an event in Koppal organized by the Regional Imbalance Redressal Committee, stated, “regardless of who holds power, corruption will persist, and Karnataka is the leading state in this regard.”

He added, “Due to widespread corruption, quality construction is overlooked. Structures that once lasted five to six decades are now falling apart within just ten years of being built. The Kalyan Karnataka region experiences particularly high levels of corruption.”

“When corruption is so prevalent, how can we expect to address regional inequalities? The officials mirror the conduct of the elected representatives. Despite the Chief Minister's statements, my views on corruption remain unchanged,” he commented.

In response to Rayareddy's remarks, Vijayendra stated, “Honorable Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, your Economic Advisor and MLA Basavaraj Rayareddy has openly admitted that corruption and exploitation are ingrained in the Karnataka government.”

“He has unveiled the dark side of this government’s corruption and illustrated how the state's dignity has been undermined under your administration. His comments expose how Karnataka has become synonymous with corruption on a national level, bringing disgrace to the state internationally,” Vijayendra emphasized.

By asserting, “Officials reflect the character of the elected representatives; regardless of the Chief Minister’s remarks, this is my personal stance on corruption,” he has highlighted a harsh truth, Vijayendra pointed out.

“His statement embodies the saying, ‘As the ruler, so are his ministers and officials,’ which seems to be strikingly relevant to your governance,” he remarked.

“In the past, the BJP government under Basavaraj Bommai was unjustly labeled as a 40 percent commission government,” Vijayendra alleged.

“Through such deceptive narratives, you (CM Siddaramaiah) misled the people of the state and proclaimed yourself as the only honest party, ultimately gaining power. Now, the facade of integrity has been removed, exposing your true character,” he said.

“The grip of corruption has resulted in soaring prices for all goods in the state, burdening the common citizens, especially the underprivileged. In reaction, the people-supported ‘BJP Janakrosh Yatra’ has effectively mobilized across the state,” he stated.

“Very soon, the public outrage will bring down your corrupt government and lead to its downfall,” he asserted.
