New Delhi, Jan 18 (NationPress) An alleged stone attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal's car is emerging as the latest flashpoint ahead of the February 5 Delhi Assembly elections.
AAP has asserted that Kejriwal's vehicle was targeted with bricks and stones during the election campaign, accusing the BJP of plotting to endanger his life out of fear of losing the upcoming elections.
The ruling party in Delhi posted a video of the supposed attack on X.
"With impending defeat, the BJP has become so anxious that it is now attempting to take Kejriwal's life. Is the BJP seeking revenge for serving the people of Delhi by trying to kill Kejriwal?" stated the party, which has held power in Delhi since 2013.
Initial reports indicate that the alleged incident occurred in New Delhi, the constituency of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal.
In response, the BJP quickly refuted AAP’s allegations regarding the attack.
Parvesh Verma, the BJP candidate contesting from the same area, mentioned that Kejriwal’s car struck two young individuals while they were asking him questions regarding Delhi’s development.
"Both were taken to Lady Hardinge Hospital. Faced with the prospect of defeat, he has forgotten the value of human life. I am heading to the hospital," he posted on X.
The Assembly elections are set for February 5 for the 70-member Delhi Assembly, with votes being counted on February 8.
The AAP aims for a third consecutive term, while facing a revitalized BJP eager to disrupt the dominance of the Arvind Kejriwal-led party in Delhi.
Moreover, the AAP is also contending with the Congress party, which it unseated in the 2013 elections.
