New Delhi, Jan 23 (NationPress) Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asserted on Thursday that his vehicle was attacked during a public rally in the Hari Nagar constituency, directing blame towards the Delhi Police and Home Minister Amit Shah for the 'coordinated' attack.
He accused the Delhi Police of permitting the Opposition's supporters, allegedly acting on the Home Minister's orders, to breach his public rally and subsequently assault his car.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader also criticized the Election Commission for its inability to prevent ongoing assaults against him throughout the election campaign, raising significant doubts about the agency's effectiveness.
This alleged incident follows a previous occurrence in the New Delhi constituency, where his vehicle was reportedly hit by a brick, an event that was vigorously denied by the BJP, which labeled it a blatant tactic to garner sympathy votes.
While campaigning in the city, Kejriwal addressed a public gathering in Hari Nagar on Thursday evening, promoting the Delhi government’s initiatives including free electricity, free water, Mohalla clinics, and complimentary bus travel for women.
He urged the audience to support the current government to continue enjoying these free services and cautioned them against pressing the 'wrong button'.
“All these benefits will only persist as long as the AAP government remains in power. If the BJP assumes control, all these freebies will disappear, and your quality of life will deteriorate,” he warned the crowd.
Kejriwal also reiterated several electoral promises made by the party, including the Mahila Samman Yojana, which offers a Rs 2,100 monthly allowance to women, the Sanjeevni Yojana for senior citizens, and subsidized bus travel for youth. He assured that if the AAP is re-elected, these schemes would be implemented within months of forming the government.
