New Delhi, Feb 3 (NationPress) Former Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP's National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal vehemently condemned the actions of the Delhi Police and the Election Commission on Tuesday, labeling their conduct as biased and unprofessional regarding election issues. He accused them of engaging in hooliganism against the AAP while shielding the BJP's misconduct.

Kejriwal's comments emerged after the Election Commission initiated a police case against Delhi CM Atishi for her allegations of hooliganism directed at her party and its members.

He expressed his views on the social media platform X, stating, "The Election Commission has lodged a police case against Delhi CM after she reported blatant hooliganism. This reflects the official stance of the Delhi Police and the Election Commission—their role is to engage in hooliganism against the Aam Aadmi Party, protect the hooliganism of the BJP, and distribute liquor, money, and goods. If anyone obstructs their 'work', they will face a case for impeding the 'functions' of the police and the Election Commission."

The controversy escalated when Delhi CM Atishi criticized the Election Commission for its inaction against BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri's family, whom she accused of openly breaching the Model Code of Conduct.

"The Election Commission is truly astounding! Family members of Ramesh Bidhuri are blatantly violating the Model Code of Conduct. No action has been taken against them. I lodged a complaint and contacted the police and @ECISVEEP, yet they turned the case against me! Rajiv Kumar ji: How much more will you tarnish the electoral process?" CM Atishi posted on X.

This statement followed an official report from the South East Delhi Police, which indicated that the AAP's candidate from Kalkaji (AC-51), along with a group of 50-70 people and 10 vehicles, was found breaching the Model Code of Conduct at Fateh Singh Marg on February 4, 2025, at 12:30 AM.

The police instructed the group to clear the area, and a case was filed under Sections 223 BNS & 126 RP Act at the Govindpuri Police Station based on a complaint from the Flying Squad Team (FST).

Kejriwal's response intensifies the existing tensions regarding the Delhi elections, scheduled for Wednesday, as the AAP persistently accuses both the Election Commission and Delhi Police of favoritism towards the BJP.
