New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) As the Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta unveiled the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report concerning the contentious video clip involving Atishi, Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra asserted 'Satyamev Jayate' and claimed that the alleged misconduct by the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Assembly has now been confirmed. He further accused AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal of committing a bigger sin by misusing the Punjab Police to shield Atishi, whom he alleged had insulted the Gurus.
Mishra reacted on the social media platform X, stating, “Satyamev Jayate. The forensic report disclosed by the Delhi Assembly Speaker is now in the public domain. The wrongdoing by Atishi in the Assembly has been validated. Kejriwal has committed a bigger sin by misusing the Punjab Police to safeguard Atishi, who insulted the Gurus. The truth needs no proof; it will always prevail.”
Earlier, Gupta presented the FSL report in the Assembly and stated that the findings indicated no alteration or tampering in the video.
In a press conference, Gupta said, “On January 8, 2026, during the Delhi Assembly session, the Opposition called for an inquiry into the video footage as questions arose regarding its authenticity. Acting on this, the session’s recording was sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory. I want to make it clear: This is the verbatim record of that day. Both audio and video were submitted to the FSL in compliance with all relevant rules and laws.”
Regarding the report's findings, the Speaker added, “Concerning the authenticity of the video, we have received the FSL report. The laboratory has explicitly stated that there is no alteration or tampering. It has been clearly noted that there is no manipulation whatsoever.”
Gupta further stated that the Delhi Assembly reached a unanimous decision to conduct a forensic examination of the video. However, during this process, unexpected developments occurred.
“On January 9, it was revealed that the Punjab government had conducted its own assessment, completed its report, and registered an FIR. Nonetheless, the matter has now been clarified. The detailed forensic report we received clearly establishes that there has been no tampering with the video and absolutely no manipulation,” he remarked.
The Speaker emphasized that the report received by the Delhi Assembly underscores the seriousness of the issue.
“The report confirms that, in relation to the respect and honor of the Gurus, a political party has, in some manner, misused government agencies and compromised the dignity of the Gurus. I urge the Leader of the Opposition to meet me in my chamber. Otherwise, this matter will be treated with utmost seriousness. They should acknowledge their error, retract their statements, and offer an apology,” he stated.
The AAP on Friday requested Breach of Privilege action against BJP Minister Kapil Mishra after a Punjab court declared a video circulated by him to be fake and misleading.
AAP Chief Whip Sanjeev Jha, in a letter to Assembly Speaker Gupta, noted that the Jalandhar court mandated the immediate removal of the video from social media, revealing how it was used to malign Atishi by misrepresenting her comments about Sikh Guru Sahibs.
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra declared on Thursday that he would not be intimidated by the Punjab Police FIR concerning a complaint related to Atishi's supposed remarks and questioned why the AAP leader was not appearing before the Privilege Committee of the Delhi Assembly.
A Jalandhar court ordered the prompt removal and blocking of a video it termed 'doctored,' featuring Atishi, ruling its circulation 'threatened public order' and 'religious harmony' in Punjab.
The court requested a compliance report regarding the removal order within 10 days.
