New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) In light of the ongoing debate over former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi’s video, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta announced on Saturday that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will also look into the Punjab government’s Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).

During a press conference, Gupta emphasized his commitment to ensure a CBI investigation into the operations and findings of the Punjab government’s FSL related to this matter.

Gupta stated, “On January 8, 2026, during a session in the Delhi Assembly, the Opposition called for an investigation into the video footage, questioning its authenticity. In response to this demand, the recording was forwarded to the Forensic Science Laboratory. I present this for your clarity: It is the exact transcription of that day. Both audio and video were shared with the FSL, adhering to all facts, regulations, and laws.”

Regarding the report's findings, the Speaker noted, “Concerning the authenticity and validity of the video, we have received the FSL report. The laboratory explicitly stated that there was no modification or tampering of the video. It has been clearly indicated that there is no manipulation whatsoever.”

Gupta further mentioned that the Delhi Assembly had unanimously agreed to conduct a forensic analysis of the video. However, unexpected developments arose during the process.

“On January 9, it came to light that the Punjab government had already conducted its own analysis, finalized its report, and registered an FIR. Nevertheless, the situation has been fully clarified. The comprehensive forensic report we received clearly establishes that the video has not been altered and that there has been absolutely no manipulation,” he explained.

The Speaker asserted that the report received by the Delhi Assembly highlighted the seriousness of the situation.

“The report demonstrates that, regarding the respect and dignity of the Gurus, a political party has, in some way, exploited government agencies and compromised the Gurus' honor. I urge the Leader of the Opposition to come forward and meet with me privately. If not, this issue will be taken very seriously in the future. They should recognize their error, retract their statements, and issue an apology,” he remarked.

Gupta also expressed concerns regarding the forensic examination carried out elsewhere.

“The order lacks clarity on the criteria used by the forensic laboratory for its examination. In other words, no detailed information has been provided regarding the scope or methods of the investigation. This poses a significant issue. There is no explanation regarding the type of manipulation that was scrutinized, nor is there a thorough description of the forensic findings,” he added.

Commenting on the behavior of the Opposition, the Assembly Speaker stated, “When the Leader of the Opposition was not present in the Assembly, despite the matter being raised earlier in their presence, they should have reacted promptly. We extended an opportunity, but instead, they abruptly departed from the Assembly and have been absent ever since.”

After the Delhi Speaker presented the FSL report, Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra stated 'Satyamev Jayate' and claimed that the alleged misconduct by the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Assembly had now been validated. He further accused AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal of committing a 'greater sin' by misusing the Punjab Police to shield Atishi, whom he accused of disrespecting the Gurus.

Mishra took to the social media platform X to respond to the developments. In his post, he wrote, “Satyamev Jayate. The forensic report received by the Delhi Assembly Speaker is now public. The wrongdoing committed by Atishi in the Assembly has now been substantiated. Kejriwal has committed a greater sin by misusing the Punjab Police to defend Atishi, who insulted the Gurus. Truth requires no proof. Truth will always prevail.”

Previously, the political conflict between the BJP and AAP intensified on Thursday after a Punjab court acknowledged a forensic report concerning the controversial video featuring Atishi, leading both parties to exchange fresh accusations.

The ruling on Thursday by a court in Jalandhar incited conflicting claims from both factions. The court ordered the removal of the video from social media platforms after evaluating a forensic report indicating that the term 'guru' was not present in the audio of the clip initially shared by BJP minister Kapil Mishra.
