New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) In response to Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta's assertion regarding a potential investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the Punjab government's Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report related to AAP leader Atishi, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated on Saturday that the BJP should indeed proceed with the inquiry.

Speaking to the media, CM Bhagwant Mann remarked, "Go ahead. When they possess power, they should take action. Even when the forensic report distinctly indicates that Atishi did not utter such statements, they still proceeded to add subtitles that demean the Gurus. The forensic report has been released and the court has mandated the removal of the videos. If the BJP's CBI supersedes even forensic science, then they are welcome to conduct the investigation."

Meanwhile, AAP Delhi President Saurabh Bharadwaj also held a press conference and asserted that both forensic reports arrived at identical conclusions.

"I can assert with complete responsibility that the Delhi forensic report aligns closely with the findings of the Punjab forensic report. The Punjab government's forensic assessment clearly indicated that the term 'guru' was not utilized," Bharadwaj stated.

Bharadwaj also scrutinized the claims surrounding the forensic examination conducted for the Assembly. "There's no distinct FSL lab for the Assembly. If one has been established, I am unaware of it. The FSL falls under either the Centre or the Delhi government," he mentioned.

Reinforcing his argument, he added that the audio was unequivocal.

"Even the Delhi government's FSL did not reference the term 'guru' in the Assembly recording. We had indicated this three days ago. All that is now being said was already apparent. If you attentively listen to the audio, even repeatedly, the word 'guru' is absent," he remarked.

Earlier in the day, Vijender Gupta reiterated his commitment to ensuring a CBI inquiry into the operations and findings of the Punjab government's FSL concerning the case.

Gupta stated, "On January 8, 2026, in the Delhi Assembly, the Opposition called for an investigation into the video footage of the Assembly session, as certain doubts were raised regarding its authenticity. In response to this demand, the recording of that session was forwarded to the Forensic Science Laboratory. I am presenting this clearly for your knowledge: It is the verbatim account of that day. Both audio and video were submitted to the FSL, adhering to all facts, rules, and regulations."

Referring to the report's findings, the Speaker added, "Concerning the authenticity and genuineness of the video, we have received the FSL report. The laboratory has explicitly stated that there is no alteration or tampering in the video. It has been categorically noted that there has been no manipulation of any kind."

Gupta further noted that the Delhi Assembly had reached a unanimous decision to conduct a forensic examination of the video. However, while the process was ongoing, unexpected developments occurred.

"On January 9, information surfaced that the Punjab government had already performed its own examination, finalized its report, and even lodged an FIR. Nevertheless, the matter has now been entirely clarified. The detailed forensic report presented to us unequivocally establishes that there has been no tampering with the video and absolutely no manipulation," he concluded.
