BJP Charges Kejriwal with 'Staging' Attack to Distract from Governance Shortcomings

New Delhi, Dec 1 (NationPress) On Sunday, BJP leaders leveled accusations against Arvind Kejriwal, the former Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener, alleging that he orchestrated an attack to draw focus away from his administration's failures. They referred to it as a 'sympathy stunt' in light of the upcoming elections.

BJP Delhi chief Virendra Sachdeva dismissed the occurrence as a 'staged' performance, asserting, 'This was no attack. The individual merely threw dirty water, representing what the citizens of Delhi are compelled to consume due to AAP’s governance. If a few drops reached Kejriwal, he exaggerated by claiming it felt like acid. Such overreactions expose AAP’s penchant for drama to mislead the public.'

Another BJP figure, Rajkumar Anand, indicated that the incident showcased the internal strife within AAP. 'The party is experiencing significant dissent. Kejriwal himself engineers such events to elicit sympathy and divert attention from pressing issues as elections approach,' he remarked.

Lok Sabha member Yogendra Chandolia offered an alternative viewpoint, suggesting that the accused may have had legitimate grievances. 'The individual was reportedly a former bus marshal whose employment was terminated. Instead of addressing the plight of these unemployed workers, Kejriwal shifts focus. Citizens are frustrated because their concerns remain unresolved, yet Kejriwal blames others,' he stated.

BJP's Lok Sabha MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat criticized AAP’s decade-long governance, declaring, 'Kejriwal has failed to provide fundamental services or lessen unemployment, which is at an all-time high. He once claimed that providing jobs is easy, yet he has not fulfilled his promises. This administration thrives on empty assertions and political theatrics.'

The incident transpired during Kejriwal’s padayatra in the Malviya Nagar region of South Delhi on Saturday evening when Ashok Jha, the accused, threw the liquid.

AAP asserted that it was 'spirit', claiming it was an attempt to 'burn' Kejriwal, but the police later verified it was simply water.

Security personnel quickly apprehended Jha, who reportedly acted out of frustration over unresolved grievances. At the time of the event, Kejriwal was accompanied by Greater Kailash MLA and Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj as they walked through a narrow lane when the liquid was thrown.
