New Delhi, Jan 23 (NationPress) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal embarked on his campaign journey on Thursday, addressing several rallies in the capital where he criticized the BJP and highlighted the contrasts between the 'self-sufficient' Delhi and the numerous states governed by the BJP.

During a public event in Hari Nagar, Kejriwal urged voters to support the AAP candidate by showcasing his administration's accomplishments in power and water supply, complimentary bus travel, and more. He also cautioned the public against pressing the ‘wrong button’ during voting, warning that their future would be bleak if they did.

Kejriwal criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the campaign, stating that Delhi enjoys a robust power supply while regions such as Noida suffer from prolonged outages under the BJP.

“In the past, Delhi experienced frequent power outages. However, our government has managed to eliminate them completely. Over the last decade, we have transformed Delhi into a power-surplus state, while neighboring Uttar Pradesh continues to endure power cuts lasting 8-10 hours, even in major cities like Noida and Lucknow,” he informed the crowd.

He further asserted that despite the BJP governing in over 20 states, they have not achieved what AAP has done in Delhi.

“Even the Gujarat model has not accomplished this despite 30 years of BJP rule. If you press the wrong button on election day, you risk losing the uninterrupted and complimentary electricity supply,” he cautioned, raising alarms among attendees.

Kejriwal touted AAP’s educational initiatives, claiming they significantly benefit the underprivileged and marginalized communities in Delhi.

“Schools in Uttar Pradesh are in disarray. I challenge Yogi Adityanath to explain what his government has achieved over the last decade,” he remarked, offering to send Delhi Education Minister to BJP-ruled states to help improve their education systems.

The AAP leader accused the BJP of planning to dismantle all Mohalla Clinics, threatening to deprive Delhi residents of free medical care.

“These services are available only while the AAP is in control. Should the BJP take charge, all these benefits will vanish, and your life will deteriorate,” he insisted.

“If you accidentally hit the Lotus button, you will lose access to free electricity, water, medical services, and bus travel, adding an extra burden of Rs 20,000 – Rs 22,000 to your monthly expenses,” he claimed, stirring reactions from the audience.

Kejriwal also warned the crowd, many of whom lived in slums, that they would be at risk under a BJP government.

“They are a perilous group. One night they reside in a slum, and a few months later, the entire settlement is gone. You must remain vigilant,” he said, indirectly criticizing the BJP.

At another rally in Rajouri Garden, Kejriwal stated: “Given the public support, it’s evident that the residents of Delhi are firmly behind the AAP.”
