New Delhi, July 9 (NationPress) In a wave of political responses concerning Arvind Kejriwal's self-nomination for a Nobel Prize, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva ridiculed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, suggesting that his chances would be much higher if there existed categories for incompetence, anarchy, and corruption in such a prestigious award.
Highlighting various scandals during Kejriwal's tenure, including the Sheeshmahal scandal, the Delhi BJP chief asserted that the appropriate consequence for such actions would be imprisonment, rather than recognition through a Nobel Prize.
Kejriwal, during an event in Mohali, expressed that he deserves a Nobel Prize for managing as Delhi CM amid significant challenges and opposition, allegedly posed by the Centre-appointed Lieutenant Governor (L-G).
While promoting the Punjabi edition of the book 'Kejriwal Model' by senior party member Jasmine Shah, he made this controversial statement.
In response, Sachdeva deemed Kejriwal's claim for a Nobel Prize as absurd, calling it a crude joke.
“Kejriwal has been fostering anarchy in the nation with foreign funding since his early days – his receipt of the Magsaysay Award and ties with the American Ford Foundation have always raised eyebrows,” he noted.
He further mentioned that the people of Delhi were left in disbelief regarding Kejriwal's aspirations for a Nobel Prize.
“Kejriwal should realize he would surely win one – if there were awards for incompetence, anarchy, and corruption,” he quipped, targeting the former Delhi CM.
Sachdeva also enumerated several scams during Kejriwal's leadership, asserting that Delhi's citizens have not forgotten his anarchic politics and the scandals overshadowing the city's governance.
“Delhi residents also recall the anarchy exhibited by Kejriwal at the Lieutenant Governor's residence preceding Republic Day 2014 and Independence Day 2024. However, there’s no Nobel Prize for such actions. The verdict from Delhi is already clear since February 2025,” he concluded.
