New Delhi, March 1 (NationPress) - The President of Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, criticized AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday for his ineffective governance, pointing out that the former chief minister's attempts to present himself as a competent administrator following a recent court decision regarding the liquor policy are unfounded.
“Kejriwal’s 11-year leadership is synonymous with stagnation, corruption, scandals, and the infamous ‘Sheesh Mahal’, while the BJP’s single year in power has been characterized by tangible transformation and progress,” Sachdeva asserted.
In response to Kejriwal’s demonstration at Jantar Mantar, the Delhi BJP chief remarked, “The issue with Kejriwal and the AAP is that as soon as they gain a slight political foothold, they start blaming the BJP for problems extending from Delhi to Punjab, Gujarat, Goa, and even nations like Israel and America.”
Sachdeva emphasized that despite having governed Delhi for over a decade and managing Punjab for more than three years, Kejriwal has delivered nothing but zero development in both regions.
“Instead of confronting this reality, he questions the year-old Delhi administration and seeks accountability from BJP-led governments in Gujarat and Goa, despite facing consistent rejection there,” he added.
The Delhi BJP President highlighted that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has set a remarkable precedent by presenting a comprehensive report card of her government’s performance to citizens across all seven parliamentary constituencies within just a week.
Sachdeva noted that the Gupta administration has initiated development projects worth thousands of crores through various departments including the Public Works Department, Delhi Jal Board, Flood Control Department, and Transport Department.
“By allocating Rs 100 crore in dedicated development funds for each Assembly constituency, our government has opened new avenues for public representatives to enhance local development,” he stated.
He reiterated that Kejriwal’s lengthy tenure was marred by corruption and a lack of progress, in stark contrast to the BJP's focus on development and change.
“With nearly Rs 1 lakh crore invested in new projects, including new STPs, a comprehensive sewer master plan, initial actions to clean the Yamuna, improved road networks, new buses, and citizen-focused house tax and Jal Board schemes, we have made considerable strides,” he added.
Earlier, while addressing AAP supporters across states such as Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab, Kejriwal accused the BJP government of damaging the country.
“Currently, our roads and sewer systems are in disrepair. The aviation and railway sectors are struggling, and air quality is deteriorating,” he lamented, painting a dire picture of the banking, education, and healthcare sectors.
Kejriwal claimed that over the last four years, the people of Delhi have endured the BJP's conspiracies. “They have repeatedly accused me of corruption, alleging that I misappropriated Rs 100 crore,” he said, clarifying that no evidence supports such claims.
