Wayanad (Kerala), April 14 (NationPress) In a shocking turn of events, a man from Kerala's Wayanad district was discovered in a severe state on Monday after attempting to take his own life following the murder of his wife, as reported by the police.
A police representative associated with the Kenichira Police Station in Wayanad informed IANS that an investigation has been initiated.
Jilson, aged 42, is currently in critical condition and has been admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode. Authorities have commenced efforts to determine if a dying declaration can be recorded,” the official stated.
“At this time, the inquest is ongoing, and the motive behind the crime remains unclear. We only have a limited understanding of the events, but as the investigation progresses, more information will come to light,” the official added.
Jilson is employed at the local branch of the Kerala Water Authority. His wife, Lisha, 35, was reportedly preparing to travel to Israel for a caregiving position. However, during the necessary medical examination for her overseas job, she was found to have health issues.
The situation unfolded when a message from Jilson concerning his intentions was discovered by a friend shortly after midnight.
Upon reading the message, the friend notified the couple's neighbors. However, upon arrival, they found that Jilson had strangled Lisha to death after confining their two young children, aged 7 and 9, in a separate room.
