Bengaluru, Jan 22 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has revealed plans for a month-long celebration commencing on February 15 to honor the centenary year of former Prime Minister and esteemed leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Speaking during a press conference, former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA C. N. Ashwath Narayan announced that from February 15 to March 15, 'Atal Virasat' Conferences will take place at the district level across the state. These gatherings will showcase exhibitions of literature about Atal Ji and pay tribute to individuals who have advanced by adhering to his principles of perseverance and commitment.

Describing Vajpayee as an extraordinary leader of the nation, the former CM emphasized that this initiative aims to honor his significant contributions and achievements for the youth and society. Additionally, exhibitions and sales of the late leader's literary works will be organized, along with the recognition of authors and senior BJP members.

"Exhibitions highlighting Atal Ji's immeasurable contributions will also be featured during the campaign," the leader stated. Ashwath Narayan further remarked that the birthday of the versatile Vajpayee, celebrated on December 25 as 'Good Governance Day', witnessed numerous programs orchestrated at various levels including booth, mandal, district, state, and national.

The committee formed to spearhead this initiative is chaired by A. H. Shivayogi Swamy, with Jagadeesh Hiremani serving as state coordinator. Members include Lakshmi Ashwin Gowda, N.V. Phaneesh, Bidare Prakash, B.C. Sadashivayya, P.N. Sadashiv, Mamatha Uday, Dayagan Dharwadkar, Narasimhmoorthy, Venkatesh Prasad, and Shankar Biradar.

Shivayogi Swamy noted that similar teams are being established at district and mandal levels. Efforts are currently underway to compile information concerning the late leader's visits to the state, including photographs and memorabilia. A special exhibition featuring the gathered materials will be held on February 14.

Hiremani, state secretary Lakshmi Ashwin Gowda, state co-coordinator N.V. Phaneesh, and other members of the campaign's state committee were present at the conference.
