Hyderabad, March 17 (NationPress) K. T. Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), launched a fierce critique of the Congress administration in Telangana, accusing them of executing the ‘largest fraud’ globally by making 420 promises during the elections and failing to fulfill them.

During the Assembly’s motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, he emphasized that no political party has ever made such a vast number of electoral promises and then neglected to honor them.

KTR claimed that despite the Congress party's assertions that they would implement these guarantees within 100 days, they have not delivered. “The Congress pledged that each family would benefit by Rs 2.5 lakh. After more than two years, can the government point to a single family that has received such benefits?” he questioned.

He noted that a Governor’s address is vital as it outlines the ruling government’s policy direction and commitments. However, he argued that the current administration has rendered it a mere formality, lacking accountability.

KTR referenced the first Governor’s address post-Congress's victory, during which then-Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assured that the “six guarantees” would be legally recognized, with the Chief Minister even signing a file to confirm this. KTR demanded to know what happened to that file.

“Where is the document signed by the Chief Minister to grant legal status to the six guarantees? If such a crucial document has vanished, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) needs to be set up immediately to locate it,” he insisted.

He pointed out that when the initial Governor’s address lacks credibility due to unmet promises, the worth of future addresses comes into question. “If the Chief Minister’s signed document has no significance, how can the public have faith in this government? Each declaration made by the Chief Minister today holds zero credibility in the public’s view,” he remarked.

KTR also criticized ministers for issuing conflicting statements in the Assembly, urging the Speaker to ensure accountability. “If false claims are made even in the Assembly, what hope is there for truth outside?” he added, emphasizing that the legislature must uphold truth and responsibility.

The BRS leader claimed that the state administration has regressed over the past 28 months. He accused the government of increasing debts, financial mismanagement, fund diversions, and prioritizing political propaganda over progress. “All that remains today are debts, dues, diversions, commissions, bulldozer politics, and abuses,” he stated.

He condemned the government for allegedly using Telangana’s resources for political campaigns in other states while failing to secure funds from the central government. “You go to Delhi not to obtain funds but to offer them. That is the distinction,” he remarked.

On the economic front, KTR noted that Telangana, once among the fastest-growing states, is now experiencing a downturn. He questioned the decrease in revenues, including GST collections, registrations, and vehicle revenues, attributing it to “negative policies and a negative mindset.”

He further alleged that the industries and IT job market are declining and dismissed claims made during investment summits as inflated rhetoric. Additionally, he accused the government of trying to undermine the legacy of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, asserting that Telangana’s progress bears testament to his contributions.

Regarding welfare initiatives, KTR criticized the government for neglecting women, farmers, pensioners, and unemployed youth. He inquired about the status of promised schemes like Rs 2,500 monthly assistance for women, interest-free loans, farm loan waivers, and unemployment benefits.

The BRS leader also claimed that existing schemes established by the previous government have been either discontinued or weakened.
