Hyderabad, Oct 7 (NationPress) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has stated that intolerance in the nation has reached unprecedented heights. The former minister expressed his outrage over the attempted attack on Chief Justice B. R. Gavai, asserting, "The intolerance in our country has escalated; an alarming indication of this was evident yesterday in the Supreme Court when CJI Gavai faced an assault. I strongly and unequivocally condemn this attempt on Chief Justice B.R. Gavai," Rama Rao shared on X.
He emphasized, "This disgraceful attack on judicial dignity is not merely an assault on an individual but an assault on the judiciary as a whole. No disagreement, even regarding sensitive topics like faith, warrants violence. Such actions jeopardize the very foundation of democracy itself," added the BRS leader.
R.S. Praveen Kumar, another BRS leader and former IPS officer, also condemned the incident. "The attack on the honorable Chief Justice of India, Justice BR Gawai, in an open court by an alleged 'Sanatani' advocate is completely unacceptable. If such an incident can occur to the Chief Justice in broad daylight, one can only imagine the chaos that such radical minds could unleash on ordinary citizens in our country," he stated on X.
He further remarked, "This represents a deeper societal issue where vulnerable citizens are being consistently indoctrinated by retrogressive and fundamentalist elements in various forms throughout this nation. It is crucial for internal security agencies such as the IB, NIA, CBI, and state intelligence departments to monitor such radicalization across all religions closely. If left unchecked, this issue could polarize society and inflict irreversible harm on our democratic institutions, potentially plunging India back into a dark age. A diverse nation like India cannot afford this!" stated Praveen Kumar.
Another BRS leader and former Minister, Harish Rao, also condemned the attack on the Chief Minister and insisted that the culprits must be swiftly brought to justice.
K. Kavitha, a leader of Telangana Jagruthi, expressed her strong condemnation of the assault on the Chief Justice of India, stating, "An attack on the head of our judiciary is an assault on the very foundation of our democracy. Such actions have no place in a democratic society."
