Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 6 (NationPress) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan vehemently denounced the incident where a person attempted to assault Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai within the Supreme Court, while also criticizing the Sangh Parivar for the occurrence.
In a statement released, Chief Minister Vijayan asserted that the toxic ideology of communal intolerance has now infiltrated even the apex judicial authority in the nation.
“The venom of hatred propagated by the Sangh Parivar has escalated to such an extent that it now dares to manifest against the Chief Justice of India within the Supreme Court,” he claimed.
The Chief Minister noted that reports suggested a person, disguised as a lawyer, attempted to hurl an object at the Chief Justice, claiming he was acting against Sanatana Dharma.
“This incident cannot be dismissed as the irrational outburst of a disturbed individual. It is a direct consequence of the toxic communal propaganda disseminated by the Sangh Parivar,” CM Vijayan remarked.
He emphasized that such occurrences are not isolated but are the result of a long-standing, organized campaign of hatred that has corrupted minds.
“The RSS and its affiliates have, over a century, fostered an atmosphere of intolerance and bigotry, which continues to manifest in violent and hateful actions,” he stated.
Drawing from history, the Chief Minister highlighted that the attack serves as a grim reminder of the same communal fanaticism that motivated the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi.
“What transpired in the Supreme Court today sends a chilling warning. It must not be taken lightly or regarded as an isolated incident. The aggressive, hate-fueled politics promoted by the Sangh Parivar must be exposed and confronted,” Chief Minister Vijayan urged.
He called for such events to be taken seriously, as they pose a threat not only to individuals but to the very democratic and secular fabric of the country.
Earlier, CJI Gavai reportedly determined that no action would be taken against the individual dressed in a lawyer's robe who attempted to disrupt proceedings by allegedly trying to throw an object at the CJI Gavai-led Bench.
Reportedly, the man approached the dais and allegedly attempted to remove his shoe, but security personnel promptly intervened and escorted him out of the courtroom.
The proceedings were briefly interrupted, but CJI Gavai maintained his composure and continued without any pause.
“Don’t let this distract you. We remain focused. These incidents do not affect me,” he stated.
Subsequently, sources confirmed that CJI Gavai had indicated that the matter should be disregarded, and no further action should be taken against the individual involved.
