Thousands of residents joined the city-wide event, which centred on this year's theme: 'Yoga for Healthy Ageing'.
Main Event at Yamuna Sports Complex
The flagship programme was held at Yamuna Sports Complex, where Lieutenant Governor Sandhu — who also serves as Chairman of DDA — was joined by Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra. N. Saravana Kumar, Vice Chairman of DDA, along with senior DDA officers and distinguished guests, were also present at the event.

The DDA organised simultaneous Yoga sessions at 29 venues spread across the city. Programme Details and Theme
Each session comprised Yoga asanas, pranayama, breathing exercises, guided meditation, and broader wellness activities, conducted under the supervision of trained instructors deputed by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. Participants included students, sports enthusiasts, and local community members from across the city.
This year's theme, 'Yoga for Healthy Ageing', highlights Yoga's role in sustaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being across all age groups — a focus that aligns with growing public health concerns around an ageing population. According to the official statement, the DDA's effort was in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Yoga as a global movement, under whose leadership the International Day of Yoga was first adopted by the United Nations in 2015.
With the 12th edition now concluded, DDA's expanding footprint across parks and sporting infrastructure signals a sustained institutional commitment to making Yoga accessible at the neighbourhood level across the National Capital.
