Kolkata, Aug 16 (NationPress) Amit Malviya, the BJP IT cell chief, and the party’s central observer for West Bengal, has recently characterized the CPI(M)-led Left Front as the “ultimate support-cum-comfort cushion” for the Trinamool Congress in the region.
To substantiate his claim, Malviya shared a photograph via his official X handle, featuring West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee engaged in a friendly discussion with Left Front Chairman Biman Bose during a tea event at Raj Bhavan, hosted by Governor C.V. Ananda Bose, in celebration of Independence Day.
“We have maintained consistently: the Communists in Bengal serve merely as the B-Team for TMC. Every single vote for the Left bolsters Mamata Banerjee,” Malviya stated on social media.
He further argued that whenever the Trinamool Congress faces challenges, the Left parties conveniently appear to divert attention.
“We witnessed this during the Sandeshkhali episode, during the RG Kar protests, and in the Lok Sabha elections where Left candidates fractured anti-TMC votes in Dum Dum, Jadavpur, Sreerampur, and elsewhere, facilitating TMC victories,” his statement elaborated.
Malviya also urged loyal Left Front voters to recognize that casting their votes for the Left would essentially be futile.
“To all sincere former cadres and supporters of the Left: don’t squander your vote. This is the time to unite, to combat TMC’s misgovernance. Vote for the BJP. Vote to rescue Bengal,” he emphasized.
Historically, both CPI(M) and the West Bengal Congress have alleged a covert understanding between the Trinamool Congress and BJP, resulting in central investigative agencies hesitating to act against key figures involved in several financial scandals in the state.
Interestingly, this is one of the rare occasions where a prominent national BJP leader has referred to the Left Front as the ultimate support-cum-comfort cushion for the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal.
