Legal Action Considered by Allu Arjun's Attorneys Over Prolonged Detention

Hyderabad, Dec 14 (NationPress) The legal representatives of Tollywood star Allu Arjun are contemplating legal measures regarding his unlawful detention, despite the High Court issuing directives for his immediate release.

Following his release from Chanchalguda Jail on Saturday morning, lawyer Ashok Reddy informed the media that the actor was held in unlawful confinement even after the jail authorities had received the official copy of the High Court ruling.

The lawyer emphasized that the High Court explicitly mandated that the accused must be released without delay.

“Even after the order was delivered, they failed to release him. The government and the department must be questioned regarding the actor's detention. The High Court order was unequivocal in stating that the moment the order is received, the actor should be released. However, they did not comply. They owe us an explanation,” the lawyer stated.

“We will pursue the necessary legal actions as permitted,” he added.

The actor's legal team asserted that there was no holdup in the jail authorities receiving the order. They contended that a certified copy of the High Court ruling was submitted, with the High Court messenger also providing a copy to the officials.

Immediately after his release, Allu Arjun drove to Geetha Arts, the family's film production company, where he conferred with his attorneys for about an hour.

The national award-winning actor was freed from jail at 6:40 a.m., nearly 12 hours after the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail for a duration of four weeks.

Jail officials mentioned that they received the bail order late at night and, according to the jail manual, prisoners cannot be released during nighttime, necessitating Allu Arjun's release the following morning.

The actor was granted interim bail by the High Court, just an hour after a lower court had placed him in judicial custody for 14 days in connection with the investigation into a stampede that occurred at a theater during the premiere of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'.

This interim bail concluded a day filled with dramatic occurrences that began Friday morning with the actor's arrest at his home in Jubilee Hills.

A woman lost her life, and her son sustained serious injuries during the stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere attended by Allu Arjun on December 4.

The police initiated a case under sections 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt) r/w 3(5) BNS against Allu Arjun, his security detail, and the theater management.
