New Delhi, March 1 (NationPress) Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena on Saturday promised swift action in accordance with Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s directives aimed at enhancing public safety in Delhi, which includes measures against illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, improved safety for women, and strategies to mitigate traffic congestion.
While addressing the press after the launch of the NDMC Flower Festival 2025 at Central Park, LG Saxena stated, “The instructions given by the Home Minister will be executed within a specified timeframe.”
On the previous day, HM Shah conducted a review of the law and order situation in Delhi and provided guidelines for identifying and deporting Bangladeshi and Rohingya individuals who threaten national security.
He also emphasized the need for collaboration between police and the Delhi government on managing traffic, enhancing law enforcement infrastructure, empowering women and children, promoting inter-departmental cooperation, tackling corruption, community policing, and the upkeep and integration of CCTV systems.
Earlier, LG Saxena inaugurated the NDMC flower exhibition and expressed his commitment to transforming Delhi into a ‘City of Flowers’, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who aims for the capital to be exceptionally beautiful.
“In the last 10 days, I have launched four flower shows and events, and in the days ahead, we will enhance the city’s beauty,” he remarked.
LG Saxena mentioned that after the two-day flower festival concludes, flower pots will be positioned along roads and traffic junctions, similar to the arrangement made during the G20 Summit, allowing those who couldn’t attend the festival to appreciate their beauty.
On social media platform X, he shared, “Spring is upon us, and flowers are flourishing throughout Delhi — on streets, in parks, and during lively floral festivals, turning the city into a visual feast of colours.”
“Today, I visited the NDMC Flower Festival 2025 at Central Park, Connaught Place. It magnificently highlights Delhi’s diverse floral heritage, uniting nature enthusiasts to celebrate the city’s blooming beauty. From vibrant marigolds and delicate petunias to aromatic roses and exotic orchids, Delhi is progressing towards truly becoming a 'City of Flowers’. The ongoing Palaash Festival 2025 by DDA at Smriti Van, featuring stunning tulips, is also a significant stride in this journey, adding to the city’s colourful allure,” he conveyed.
These initiatives not only beautify the city but also strengthen our commitment to a greener, more lively urban environment. I encourage everyone to explore these magnificent locations, soak in the colours of spring, and experience Delhi in full bloom, wrote the LG.
