Bengaluru, May 15 (NationPress) The Lokayukta officials are executing a coordinated operation at over 30 sites, focusing on at least seven government employees throughout Bengaluru and various regions of Karnataka on Thursday.
This action follows a tip-off about the accumulation of assets that are disproportionate to the officials' reported income sources.
As per reports, operations are currently in progress at 12 sites in Bengaluru, 7 in Tumakuru, 5 in Yadgir, 4 in Mangaluru, and another 4 in the Vijayapura district.
The targeted sites comprise the homes and offices of the Project Director of the Nirmiti Centre located in Tumakuru, a Survey Supervisor in Mangaluru, and a senior female officer affiliated with the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Development Corporation.
Searches are also being conducted at the residences of the Additional Director connected to the Bengaluru City and Rural Planning Directorate, an inspector linked to Legal Metrology, a Second Division Assistant stationed at the Hosakote Taluk Office, and a staff member from the Yadgir Taluk Office.
The properties of the Tehsildar from Yadgir district are under investigation in the Akkamahadevi Layout area of Kalaburagi city. Additionally, searches are being carried out on the premises of relatives associated with these officials.
More information is awaited, and an official statement from the Lokayukta has yet to be issued regarding this matter.
Previously, on January 31, Lokayukta officials conducted raids at seven locations across four districts in the state. The raids targeted the homes and properties of government officials suspected of holding disproportionate assets, including an in-charge Sub-Registrar.
These simultaneous operations were executed in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Raichur, and Bagalkot districts.
On January 8, the Lokayukta officials also executed simultaneous raids against seven government officials in Karnataka concerning the accumulation of disproportionate assets.
The raids took place at nine locations, including Bengaluru, Chikkamagaluru, Bidar, Belagavi, Gadag, Ballari, Raichur, Bagalkot, and Tumakuru districts.
