Amaravati, Aug 17 (NationPress) Nara Lokesh, the Minister for Information Technology and Human Resources Development in Andhra Pradesh, has plans to meet Union Ministers in Delhi this coming Monday to address critical pending projects concerning the state with the Central government.
Lokesh is set to depart for the national capital on Sunday. His agenda includes a series of discussions with Union Ministers aimed at accelerating clearances for outstanding projects and exploring new initiatives beneficial for Andhra Pradesh.
As the son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh will engage with prominent ministers including Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
The state government is anticipated to present various proposals to each ministry during these discussions, as indicated by a statement from Lokesh’s office.
Since the coalition government was formed in the state, Minister Lokesh has met with Union Ministers on several occasions, actively advocating for the interests of Andhra Pradesh.
His endeavors have been instrumental in attracting new projects to the region and securing swifter approvals from the Central government, as noted.
Furthermore, the HRD Minister is reportedly making a deliberate effort to elevate Andhra Pradesh to the level of the nation’s most developed states.
During his visit, Lokesh is also likely to meet with Union Railway, IT and Electronics Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to express his gratitude for the sanctioning of a Semiconductor Manufacturing Unit in the state.
On August 12, the Union Cabinet gave the green light for a semiconductor facility in Andhra Pradesh.
Advanced System in Package Technologies (ASIP) will collaborate with APACT Co. Ltd from South Korea, targeting an annual output of 96 million units. These units will cater to mobile phones, set-top boxes, automobiles, and other advanced electronics, significantly contributing to an Atmanirbhar Bharat, according to Lokesh, who thanked the Prime Minister for this initiative.
The Union Cabinet has decided to establish new semiconductor manufacturing units under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), which will be situated in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Punjab, with a total investment of approximately Rs 4,600 crore.
