"Divers successfully recovered all seven bodies, and the rescue operation is now officially over," stated a senior police officer from Shivpuri.
The incident took place on Tuesday at approximately 4:45 p.m. when a group of 15 relatives and family members from Rajavan village were aboard a boat en route to the Siddh Baba temple, located on an island within the dam reservoir, to celebrate Holi Phaag.

In response to their distress signals, local villagers nearby were able to rescue eight individuals, while seven others sadly drowned.
The first body, identified as Sharda Lodhi (55), was recovered 17 hours after the incident on Wednesday morning at roughly 10 a.m.
Following this, the State Disaster Relief Forces (SDRF) systematically retrieved the remaining six victims.
