Madhya Pradesh CM Advocates for Enhanced Use of Organic Manure Alongside Market Fertilizers

Bhopal, Dec 28 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, stated on Saturday that there is a pressing need to promote the use of organic manure among farmers, in tandem with fertilizers sourced from the market, for improved agricultural yield.
During a review meeting focusing on fertilizer availability in the state, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of educating farmers on the benefits of traditional organic manure, noting that this initiative could serve as a model for other states to follow.
"It's crucial to assess and record the amount of organic manure being utilized. Many farmers already apply organic manure extensively based on their traditional knowledge and personal initiative. They require guidance on the advantages of using organic manure," CM Yadav stated.
In the meeting, he remarked that when farmers are informed about the benefits of organic and natural manure, along with being provided with alternative options, they will be more inclined to use these resources.
CM Yadav also emphasized the need for ensuring adequate storage facilities at major fertilizer distribution centers, so that farmers receive the necessary fertilizers in a timely manner, aligning with their crop cycles.
Despite claims of a fertilizer shortage in the market, the Chief Minister asserted that this year has seen the highest availability of urea, NPK, SSP, and MOP fertilizers in the past four years.
The government reported that over 32 lakh metric tons of urea fertilizer has been distributed to farmers. Additionally, 9.29 lakh metric tons of NPK and 10.58 lakh metric tons of SSP have also been provided.
The issue of fertilizer shortages has been a contentious topic between the ruling BJP and opposition Congress, as farmers in various regions of Madhya Pradesh have voiced their concerns through protests.
