Bhopal, Feb 12 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh government has established a high-powered committee to manage the preparations for the forthcoming Global Investment Summit (GIS), scheduled to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24 in Bhopal, as stated by an official on Wednesday.
This committee, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, comprises various Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior bureaucrats, including Chief Secretary Anurag Jain.
Among the members are Deputy Chief Ministers Jagadish Devda and Rajendra Shukla, along with Ministers Chaitanya Kashyap, Krishan Gaur, and Vishwas Sarang.
Additionally, BJP chief of the Madhya Pradesh unit and Khajuraho MP V.D. Sharma, along with Bhopal MP Alok Sharma, Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai, and MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani, are among the committee members, alongside senior IAS officials.
The committee is tasked with overseeing important logistics for the event, including travel, food, accommodation, and other arrangements for investors traveling from various regions of the country and abroad, according to a statement from the Madhya Pradesh government.
Prime Minister Modi is expected to arrive in Madhya Pradesh the day before the summit, on February 23, to lay the foundation stone of a cancer hospital in Chhatarpur and will spend the night in Bhopal. He is set to inaugurate the GIS on February 24, as confirmed by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to the media.
“We have received confirmation for Prime Minister Modi to inaugurate the Global Investor Summit and for Union Minister Amit Shah to participate in the concluding event. PM Modi will perform the Bhoomi Pujan for a Cancer Hospital in Chhatarpur and will stay overnight in Bhopal,” the Chief Minister noted.
As part of the preparations for the upcoming GIS-2025, the Madhya Pradesh government hosted a curtain-raiser event at the Taj Hotel in Delhi, where Chief Minister Mohan Yadav was set to engage in one-on-one and roundtable discussions with industrialists.
During these discussions, Chief Minister Yadav will showcase the new investment policy that has been approved in anticipation of the GIS-2025.
The Madhya Pradesh government has sanctioned 10 sub-policies under the MP industry promotion policy, addressing sectors such as agriculture, food processing, textile, footwear, toys, and aerospace and defense equipment.
