Mumbai, March 24 (NationPress) Following the lodging of an FIR against Kunal Kamra, Shiv Sena Minister Pratap Sarnaik stated that the stand-up comedian has absconded to Puducherry, and assistance from the police there will be sought for his arrest.
“Kunal Kamra is a pervert. He is pretending to have been granted rights by the Constitution while holding a copy of it. Kamra has escaped to Puducherry; we will enlist the help of the local police to apprehend him. We will not endorse any form of vandalism. There is an ongoing effort to disrupt the peaceful environment in Mumbai,” the Minister remarked.
The uproar began after Kunal Kamra shared a video on his official YouTube channel critiquing Maharashtra politics, where he labeled Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde a “traitor.” Subsequently, some Shiv Sena members visited the location, interrogated the club management, and caused damage to the property.
Later, authorities detained 11 Shiv Sena members for their involvement in vandalizing the city hotel where Kunal Kamra’s stand-up comedy performance had occurred on Sunday.
Shiv Sena deputy leader Sanjay Nirupam commented, “Kunal Kamra is part of the Congress ecosystem. He participates in Rahul Gandhi’s padyatra and is seen alongside Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule.
“What Kamra did is not humor; it’s a grave accusation. You are labeling our leader a traitor. Are you aware of the internal dynamics of Shiv Sena? Do you understand the concept of betrayal? In 2022, over 40 MLAs revolted under Shinde’s leadership; it wasn’t betrayal but an effort to steer Shiv Sena in the right direction,” stated Nirupam.
He further expressed, “Uddhav Thackeray was the one who betrayed. He abandoned Balasaheb’s Hindutva and formed an alliance with Congress. Shinde rebelled to rectify that. Across the nation, only Uddhav Thackeray and his followers label Shinde a traitor; no one else does. Kamra instigated this by taking a supari.”
“Who is Kunal Kamra? He is closely associated with Sanjay Raut. There exists a photo of Kunal Kamra with Sanjay Raut. I am uncertain of their connection,” added Nirupam.
Moreover, Shiv Sena legislator Manisha Kayande criticized Kunal Kamra and demanded an immediate apology for his statements. “We, the women of Shiv Sena, will be assertive, and if he does not apologize within two days, we will blacken his face,” she warned.
BJP leader Mohit Kamboj remarked, “Currently, the studio is damaged; the picture is yet to be made, my friend. Heartfelt congratulations to all Shiv Sainiks and Jai Shri Ram.”
