New Delhi, Oct 13 (NationPress) With the political climate heating up ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad launched a fierce critique of the opposition alliance, Mahagathbandhan, asserting that the coalition is lost and on the brink of disintegration.
“The Mahagathbandhan is stranded midstream. It's destined to sink. Observing the current landscape, even Congress is hesitant to align with the RJD, aware of the public's perception,” Prasad stated in an interview with IANS.
He emphasized that the reputations of RJD leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav have been severely tarnished, complicating recovery for the grand alliance.
“The numerous controversies surrounding Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi will weigh down both the RJD and the Mahagathbandhan,” he added.
When questioned about dissatisfaction within the NDA regarding the seat-sharing agreement, Prasad refuted any discord, claiming that all allies had consented to the arrangement.
“There is no discontent. The seat-sharing was settled with unanimous agreement, and all NDA partners have confirmed this on their X accounts. A significant victory is on the horizon,” he confidently asserted.
According to the NDA’s official seat-sharing plan, the BJP and JD(U) will contest 101 seats each, LJP (Ram Vilas) will contest 29, while RLM and HAM will each field candidates for 6 seats.
Previously, RLM president Upendra Kushwaha, whose party received only six seats, shared an emotional note on X, asking for forgiveness from his supporters.
“I ask for your forgiveness… I realize this decision will pain the hearts of thousands—millions—of people… There are constraints and limitations,” Kushwaha expressed.
The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections are set for two phases, on November 6 and November 11, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 14.
