Mahakumbh Nagar, Feb 2 (NationPress) In anticipation of the forthcoming Amrit Snan on Basant Panchami at the Mahakumbh Mela, all medical units within the Praygaraj division have been placed on high alert.

Over 1,200 medical personnel are fully equipped and on standby in Mahakumbh Nagar to provide prompt medical assistance. Moreover, the entire medical workforce has been directed to remain present at the fair until February 6, with a contingency plan established for any unforeseen incidents.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued comprehensive directives to ensure the safety and health of millions of devotees. Medical professionals will be stationed in the fairground for a period of 3-4 days.

Swarooprani Nehru Hospital and Tej Bahadur Sapru Hospital are also on heightened alert. A specialized four-member medical team, including key figures such as Umakant Sanyal, Dr. Manoj Kaushik, Dr. Ram Singh, and Dr. Gaurav Dubey, has conducted inspections at every hospital within the fair premises, ensuring that all medical supplies and equipment are fully operational.

The inventory of medicines and equipment at the sector hospitals constructed within the fair area has also been thoroughly checked.

Swarooprani Nehru Hospital has 500 medical staff on standby, with 150 beds designated for emergencies.

In addition, more than 50 ambulances are on standby for urgent medical transport. The hospital's personnel, in collaboration with SDRF, NDRF, and police teams, will operate continuously to deliver medical support and aid.

To guarantee that doctors and medical teams are adequately prepared, provisions for accommodation and meals have been arranged at Swarooprani Nehru Hospital. All medical personnel have been instructed to remain within the hospital grounds to provide immediate services if necessary.

The preparations for this significant 'snan' are particularly important following the tragic stampede that resulted in about 30 pilgrims losing their lives and over 60 sustaining injuries.
