Mahakumbh Nagar, Feb 11 (NationPress) In preparation for the forthcoming Magh Purnima bath scheduled for February 12, the Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh has enacted extensive measures to safeguard the health and safety of the expected surge of devotees. All hospitals in the city, division, and Maha Kumbh region have been put on high alert as directed by the Chief Minister.
To ensure prompt response during emergencies, a total of 133 ambulances have been strategically stationed, including 125 road ambulances, 7 river ambulances, and 1 air ambulance.
Advanced medical services have been established throughout the Mahakumbh area, capable of handling everything from minor procedures to major surgeries. Dr. Gaurav Dubey, the Nodal Medical Officer for the Mahakumbh Mela, noted that the emergency services provided by the Yogi government, especially the ambulance service, are crucial. Over 2,000 medical personnel have been deployed within the Mahakumbh area, with an additional 700 staff on standby at Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital.
Under the specific instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, SRN Hospital has allocated 250 beds and secured 200 units of blood for potential emergencies. All 43 hospitals in Mahakumbh Nagar, each equipped with a 500-bed capacity, are fully prepared to accommodate the influx of patients.
The hospital has set aside a 40-bed trauma center, a 50-bed surgical ICU, a 50-bed medicine ward, a 50-bed PMSSY ward, and a 40-bed burn unit. Additionally, a 10-bed cardiology ward and a 10-bed ICU are operational. The entire operation is being overseen by Principal Dr. Vatsala Mishra, with Vice-Principal Dr. Mohit Jain and Chief Superintendent Dr. Ajay Saxena attending to the specific needs of the devotees.
To ensure seamless medical operations, 30 senior doctors have been assigned special responsibilities, supported by 180 resident doctors and over 500 nursing and paramedical staff, all working diligently. The hospital administration has mandated strict cleanliness protocols for housekeeping agencies.
Dr. Vatsala Mishra, Principal of Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, confirmed that all arrangements are in place to address any emergencies that may arise during the Magh Purnima bath. She urged devotees to reach out to the hospital immediately if health issues occur, assuring them of free and high-quality medical care.
In partnership with the AYUSH department, 150 medical personnel, including 30 specialist doctors, have been mobilized to assist the devotees. Medical experts from AIIMS Delhi and BHU are also on standby. Dr. Girish Chandra Pandey stated that the team, headed by Regional Ayurvedic and Unani Officer Dr. Manoj Singh, is available 24/7 to guarantee the safety of all devotees.
