Mahakumbh: Modern Technologies to Ensure Hygiene and Eco-Friendliness for Pilgrims

Mahakumbh Nagar, Dec 22 (NationPress) The Prayagraj Mela Authority is engaged in extensive preparations to ensure a clean and green environment for pilgrims and devotees from India and overseas who are expected to visit Mahakumbh 2025.
A variety of state-of-the-art equipment are slated for deployment before the commencement of the fair, with an estimated budget of Rs 45-50 lakh. This includes 10 manual walk-behind sweeping machines and 2 battery-operated vacuum-type litter pickers.
This initiative is designed not only to sustain cleanliness during the Mahakumbh but also to create a clean and green atmosphere for all attendees.
A compact manual sweeping machine will be utilized to maintain the cleanliness of the paved ghats, footpaths, roads, and various public spaces within the fairgrounds, thereby enhancing the experience for visitors, tourists, and bathers from both India and abroad.
This eco-friendly equipment functions without fuel or electricity, thereby minimizing its environmental footprint.
Being manually operated, it cleans effectively without stirring up dust, and its ergonomic design ensures user comfort.
Additionally, a battery-operated vacuum-type litter picker will be employed in the fair area for enhanced cleaning efficiency.
This litter collection machine is designed as a battery-operated, ride-on, and walk-along power-suction vacuum that effectively picks up litter and debris.
The acquisition of these cleaning machines for the fair area is projected to cost around Rs 45-50 lakh, which will be funded by the Prayagraj Mela Authority. Their purchase was recently approved during a board meeting of the Authority.
Akanksha Rana, the Special Executive Officer of the Mela, indicated that special emphasis is being placed on cleanliness in accordance with the directives from the Chief Minister. These cutting-edge machines are being introduced to empower sanitation workers.
"The equipment will be delivered prior to the start of the fair, and the necessary training for their operation will be completed in a timely manner," she stated.
