Maharashtra Aiming for Trillion-Dollar Economy by 2028-2030, Says CM Fadnavis

Mumbai, Dec 13 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated on Friday that a range of development initiatives are underway to transform Maharashtra into the most advanced state in India and to realize a trillion-dollar economy by 2028 to 2030.
While addressing the World Hindu Economic Conference, he remarked, "We will attain our target of a trillion-dollar economy between 2028 and 2030."
"Maharashtra is progressing rapidly today. An advisory committee has been established to ensure the state becomes the most developed in the nation, and through this committee, development policies are being crafted. Maharashtra is developing a framework that aligns with global growth. The state government is dedicated to establishing a logistics policy and enhancing the fastest road network. The Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Highway, which spans 700 kilometers, connects 16 districts and links directly to the JNPT port, thus facilitating an efficient supply chain. The government is prioritizing infrastructural advancements including roads, aviation, and port development," he elaborated.
He mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is eager to establish Maharashtra as a maritime powerhouse, noting that since 2014, infrastructure development in India has gained momentum under PM Modi's guidance.
"The World Hindu Economic Council has introduced diverse concepts rooted in India's culture and developmental principles across various sectors. There exists a distinct contrast between Western culture and our own. In Western culture, development is limited to the capable, whereas our culture asserts that every individual has the right and opportunity to evolve," he pointed out.
"India's remarkable advancements have astonished the world. As a country progressing at unprecedented speed, India is on track to become the third superpower globally. Observers are often taken aback by how a populous nation can thrive. However, the skilled workforce of our nation is a vital asset for development, and we aim to include everyone in this progress," stated Chief Minister Fadnavis.
He continued: "Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new policy framework to expedite national growth, India has lifted 25 crore citizens above the poverty line in the past decade. Our goal is to transform India into a 5 trillion dollar economy by 2030, with aspirations to achieve this by 2028. According to international financial organizations, India has the potential to reach a 7 trillion dollar or even a 9 trillion dollar economy by focusing on development driven by modern technology."
"Based on the 2020 National Development Survey, Maharashtra ranks first in the country for groundwater levels and boasts significant forest cover. The state government is committed to promoting sustainable development through green energy initiatives and river-linking projects," he concluded.
