Meanwhile, Pradeep P, the Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Maritime Board, will replace Manik Gursal, who has now assumed the role of Metropolitan Commissioner for the Nashik Metropolitan Region Development Authority.
Sources indicate that this reshuffle is intended to bolster efficient governance under the newly established cabinet led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Fadnavis emphasized on December 26 that enhancing the path to a $1 trillion economy is rooted in effective governance and highlighted the importance of 'Ease of Living' for the state's advancement.
In a statement following the release of the Maharashtra District Good Governance Index, 2024, Fadnavis remarked, "The state's advancement hinges on the 'Ease of Living'. Our government continually strives to enhance this factor. Effective governance is evident in the timely delivery of government services to citizens. For our economy to reach the $1 trillion mark, good governance is essential. We shall fortify this pathway through effective governance."
He added that with the backing of the Central Government, the District Good Governance Index reflects the potential for improvement across various sectors.
"This index is comprehensive. Historically, our government has prioritized people-centric administration, establishing the 'Aaple Sarkar' platform for citizens to voice their grievances.
"The District Good Governance Index not only ranks districts but also highlights areas for enhancement. The disparity in scores between the highest and lowest performing districts is minimal, indicating progress across all regions," he concluded.
