New Delhi, Aug 3 (NationPress) The head of the BJP IT cell, Amit Malviya, vehemently criticized Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday, accusing him of possessing multiple Election Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) and labeling the Opposition as an "alliance of Pappus".
In a post on X, Malviya expressed disbelief, stating, "I still can't comprehend how Tejashwi Yadav could once compare himself to Steve Jobs, only to now be caught with multiple EPICs! From false comparisons to fraudulent voter IDs, the level of hypocrisy is astonishing."
He continued his attack on the Opposition, asserting, "They aren't merely a coalition of parties -- they form an alliance of Pappus."
Previously, Tejashwi had raised concerns about the Bihar draft voter list released on August 1, claiming that his name was omitted.
He alleged that the Election Commission of India had altered his EPIC number, stating, "If my EPIC number can be changed, I wonder how many others have had theirs altered. These are the questions we are posing to the Election Commission. This is a scheme to remove people's names from the voter list."
The poll body published the draft voter list following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.
Tejashwi's name, associated with a second EPIC number, was not found in the latest records.
The ECI clarified that it was "quite likely" that the second EPIC had never been officially issued, casting doubt on its legitimacy.
The situation intensified when Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary accused Tejashwi of misinforming the public and committing electoral fraud.
Choudhary stated, "Tejashwi Yadav registered in two constituencies. This is illegal. A thorough investigation is required."
He further shared documentation on social media to substantiate his claims, indicating that Tejashwi has a voter record under EPIC number RAB0456228 in the Digha Assembly Constituency of Patna.
Choudhary challenged the validity of the second EPIC number -- RAB2916120 -- which Tejashwi claimed, suggesting it might be either invalid or duplicated.
He posed the question, "Where did this second EPIC number originate? Is this an isolated incident, or is the entire RJD involved in such practices?"
Choudhary labeled the incident a potential "betrayal of democracy" that warrants a high-level investigation.
He also released a record of Tejashwi's name and serial number across various elections, showing discrepancies in his voter registrations.
