Kolkata, March 31 (NationPress) The head of the BJP IT cell, Amit Malviya, criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during her speech at an Eid prayers event on Monday, where she claimed she was "ready to sacrifice her life for all religions".
Malviya questioned her dedication, stating that countless lives have been lost due to her relentless pursuit of power.
“The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, has permitted countless lives to be lost in her quest for dominance. Her vow to sacrifice her life as a form of atonement is insufficient in light of the numerous fatalities during anti-Hindu riots (the list is extensive), the use of rape as a means of political oppression (with Sandeshkhali being a stark example), and the many lives ruined by extortion and corruption (including the tragic rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar MCH) under her governance,” Malviya asserted in a statement shared on X.
Characterizing the Chief Minister’s statements about sacrificing her life for the country as “hollow rhetoric”, Malviya urged her to prioritize the safety of Hindus in West Bengal and put an end to the targeting of Hindu religious celebrations in the region.
“Mamata Banerjee must relinquish any delusions of transforming Bengal into Bangladesh -- such a fantasy will never come true,” Malviya’s statement indicated.
He further predicted that the 2026 Assembly elections in West Bengal would signify the downfall of the current Trinamool Congress administration. “In 2026, Bengal will rise against her oppressive regime and dismantle her crumbling government. Her time in power is dwindling,” the statement declared.
Earlier that day, while addressing a crowd at Red Road in central Kolkata during the Eid festival, the Chief Minister asserted that her life is dedicated to the nation, accusing both the BJP and CPI(M)-Left Front of spreading divisive and communal politics in West Bengal.
In her criticism of these opposing political factions, the Chief Minister referred to them as “Ram-Bam (Ram and Left).”
She also reassured the minority community that she and her administration are always present to safeguard them.
