Kolkata, May 2 (NationPress) - On Friday, West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the students who successfully passed the 2025 secondary examination organized by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE), with results disclosed earlier today.
In her statement, shared on her official X handle, she stated, “My heartfelt congratulations to all the students who have passed this year's secondary examination! I hope you achieve even greater success in the days to come.”
She also recognized the invaluable contributions of parents, guardians, and teachers in the students' achievements.
“On this memorable day, I also extend my sincere good wishes to your parents, guardians, and teachers. Their support and guidance have made this achievement possible,” she added.
To those students who may not have performed as well, she offered words of encouragement.
“To those who could not achieve good results today, I say -- do not lose hope. Keep trying. Success will surely come in the days ahead. Once again, I offer my heartfelt blessings and best wishes to all of you. Stay well, everyone,” she stated.
This year, the overall pass percentage reached 86.56%, an increase from 86.31% in 2024.
WBBSE President Ramanuj Gangopadhyay noted that this marks the highest pass percentage in the board's history, with 66 students earning a place in the top 10 rankings.
Mark sheets were distributed at schools on Friday morning, with a total of 9,69,435 candidates appearing for the examination this year, which is 56,827 more than in 2024.
This year's top performer is Adrito Sarkar from Raiganj in the North Dinajpur district of West Bengal, achieving an impressive 99.43%. Two candidates shared the second position, both scoring the same marks: Anuvab Biswas from Malda and Soumya Paul from Bankura.
Ishani Chakraborty, also from Bankura, secured the third position.
