New Delhi, March 27 (NationPress) An individual has been detained for allegedly making offensive remarks directed at the Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Mumbai.

The suspect has been identified as 50-year-old Wajid Hazrat Momin.

In a social media post, Wajid remarked: "I can't fathom how Aurangzeb killed him; his agonizing screams can still be heard today."

Wajid has been charged with provoking religious sentiments.

The Malvani Police are currently conducting an investigation.

On Monday, a journalist was apprehended for making derogatory comments about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji.

The journalist, identified as Prashant Koratkar, was arrested in Telangana.

Koratkar was charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

His arrest followed an audio conversation with historian Indrajeet Sawant, who shared Koratkar's comments on social media, triggering widespread outrage.

Violence erupted in Nagpur after a right-wing group demanded the removal of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's grave, fueled by rumors of religious items being burned.
