Kolkata, Feb 25 (NationPress) The police officials from Basirhat Police District, located in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, arrested an employee of a private nursing training institute on Tuesday evening, under suspicion of rape and murder of a woman bank employee within the nursing facility, authorities confirmed.
On late Monday night, the deceased woman's body was found in a room of the nursing training center.
Following the grim discovery, the victim's husband promptly lodged a complaint at the Basirhat police station, naming the accused, Asauddin Mollah, who worked at the center.
Basirhat police acted swiftly, arresting Mollah and taking him to a district court where they requested police custody.
The district court judge granted a six-day remand for the accused.
Superintendent of Basirhat Police District, Hossain Mehedi Rehman, confirmed to the media that the victim's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The autopsy report will clarify if it was indeed a case of rape and murder.
