Silchar (Assam), April 5 (NationPress) – Chief Minister of Manipur, Yumnam Khemchand Singh, emphasized on Sunday the notable advancements made in infrastructure and governance by the BJP-led NDA government in Assam.

While addressing a poll rally at Rongpur in Assam's Cachar district, Singh highlighted that over the last ten years, the BJP-led NDA administration in Assam has made significant progress in areas such as infrastructure, public welfare, economic development, and governance.

“Through continuous efforts and decisive measures, including tackling the issue of illegal migration, Assam is set to become a strong and dynamic state, not only in the Northeast but across the entire nation,” Singh declared to the enthusiastic crowd.

He further stated, “Let’s unite in support of this vision for growth and stability.” He urged the populace to vote for the BJP and contribute to Assam’s journey towards a brighter and more prosperous future.

This election rally was organized by the BJP to support the party's candidate from the Udharbond constituency (in Cachar district), Rajdeep Goala.

Manipur BJP President Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi and other party leaders also addressed the assembly, reinforcing the spirit of unity and commitment.

A considerable segment of the Manipuri population resides in southern Assam, covering three districts: Cachar, Sribhumi (formerly Karimganj), and Hailakandi.

The election for the 126-member Assam Assembly is scheduled for April 9, with results expected on May 4.

In parallel, Thomas Hmar, the President of the Hmar Supreme House in Barak Valley, Assam, met with the Manipur Chief Minister to discuss various issues.

Later, on the social media platform X, CM Singh remarked: “The interaction was significant and forward-looking, emphasizing our shared commitment to fostering peace, understanding, and stability in Manipur.”

“Shri Thomas Hmar has been instrumental in converting dialogue into practical solutions, especially in facilitating the agreement between the Hmar Peoples’ Convention (D) and the Government of Assam. His leadership in peace-building initiatives is commendable,” the Chief Minister added.

He concluded with confidence that Hmar’s ongoing guidance and active involvement can greatly enhance harmony and lasting peace among all communities in Manipur. “Together, we are dedicated to dialogue, cooperation, and inclusive development for a peaceful and prosperous state.”

During his two-day visit to the diverse Jiribam district, which borders southern Assam, Chief Minister Singh attended several events in Manipur before heading to Assam to participate in the election campaign.
