What Recognition Did Squadron Leader Rizwan Malik Receive for His Role in 'Operation Sindoor'?

Imphal, Sep 1 (NationPress) Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla honored Squadron Leader Rizwan Malik, recipient of the Vir Chakra from the Indian Air Force (IAF), for his significant contributions during 'Operation Sindoor', which involved precise strikes on targets in Pakistan, as reported by officials.

A representative from Raj Bhavan mentioned that, in recognition of his brave service, the Manipur government had previously announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for Squadron Leader Malik, who is originally from Kheikhu village in the Imphal East district.

The Governor commended Squadron Leader Malik for his outstanding bravery and commitment, stating that his heroic actions serve as a motivational example for the youth and bring pride to the entire nation.

Expressing his appreciation, Squadron Leader Rizwan Malik thanked the Governor and the people of Manipur for the acknowledgment and honor.

Furthermore, the state government reaffirmed its dedication to recognizing and supporting the bravery of the nation's armed forces, according to a statement from Raj Bhavan.

During the meeting with the Governor, Squadron Leader Malik was accompanied by his father, Alhaj Hafizuddin, and his mother, Alhajan Waheeda Rehman.

In related news, posthumously awarded the Vir Chakra was the late Constable Deepak Chingakham of the Border Security Force (BSF), who also hailed from Manipur. His award was in recognition of his remarkable courage and selfless leadership during 'Operation Sindoor'.

At just 25 years old, Chingakham made the ultimate sacrifice while on duty during 'Operation Sindoor'.

His sacrifice is a lasting testament to the indomitable spirit of our homeland, evoking pride and inspiring future generations, as previously stated by officials.

While serving with the 7th Battalion BSF, he tragically sustained fatal injuries due to unprovoked cross-border firing along the International Boundary in the RS Pura sector of Jammu on May 10, and he succumbed to his injuries on May 11. The government and the people of Manipur honor his bravery and pay heartfelt respects to his steadfast dedication to the nation.

Chingakham, a dedicated soldier from Imphal East district, served his country with distinction and courage, leaving the state and country in mourning, according to a government official.

The Manipur government previously announced Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia for the family of the fallen BSF soldier, Chingakham.

Chingakham Bonibihari Singh, the father of the deceased constable, expressed pride in his son's sacrifice.

A senior BSF officer emphasized that Chingakham was a courageous soldier dedicated to his responsibilities as a member of the border guarding force, stating, 'The entire BSF stands by his family.'

Having joined the BSF in April 2021, Chingakham's bravery continues to be honored.

Recently, the Manipur Police offered a job to the younger brother of the late BSF personnel, Deepak Chingakham.

The police have appointed Chingakham Naoba Singh, the brother of the martyred Deepak Chingakham, to the position of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Manipur Police, recognizing his brother's ultimate sacrifice during Operation Sindoor.
