This achievement signifies the second year in a row that Maruti Suzuki India has surpassed the milestone of 20 lakh units in annual production. The total production encompasses vehicles aimed at domestic markets, exports, and OEM supplies. The five leading models by production volume for the year were Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire, and Ertiga.
“This achievement underscores our company’s unwavering commitment to meeting customer demands both domestically and internationally,” the statement elaborated.
Hisashi Takeuchi, managing director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki, remarked, “This record production is a testament to the hard work of our team and the robust collaboration we maintain with our suppliers. Our high degree of localization has allowed us to reach this scale while upholding superior quality, showcasing the strength and global competitiveness of India’s automotive manufacturing sector.”
“We are dedicated to expanding our manufacturing presence and enhancing India’s automotive production capabilities in alignment with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative,” he added.
Additionally, Maruti Suzuki India announced on Thursday that it exported 3.95 lakh vehicles in 2025, achieving its highest export numbers in any calendar year, which reflects a growth of over 21 percent compared to 2024.
Since its inception in 1983 with its first production plant in Gurugram, Haryana, Maruti Suzuki has grown significantly, supported by a solid multi-tier supplier and dealer network. The company has expanded its manufacturing operations to include facilities in Gurugram, Manesar, and Kharkhoda in Haryana, and has recently integrated its Gujarat plant into its operations.
Currently, the automotive giant produces 17 models and over 650 variants across its advanced facilities. The company aims to boost its manufacturing capability to 4 million units per year to cater to the increasing domestic demand and serve international markets, according to the company statement.
Maruti Suzuki continues to lead the Indian car market, consistently maintaining over 40 percent of the passenger vehicle segment market share, owing to its range of affordable and fuel-efficient models, with recent strong sales driven by festive demand.
