In comments made to journalists in Bengaluru, he remarked, "Our families, including that of Mallikarjun Kharge, share a close bond. Beyond the realm of politics, he embodies an elder brother figure to me. I often engage with him, and our discussions are primarily centered on familial topics. Not every gathering necessitates a political dialogue."

He reiterated that even during the meeting held on Saturday, politics were not brought up.

“Our conversation encompassed a variety of family matters, and there is no need for undue speculation. Not a single word was exchanged regarding politics,” stated the state Home Minister.

When questioned by the media about his trip to New Delhi, Parameshwara commented: "There’s no need to overanalyze or draw baseless conclusions regarding my visits to Delhi."

On the topic of his meeting with Kharge, he questioned, "What secrecy surrounds this meeting? If politics were discussed, I would have candidly mentioned it. Why would I conceal it? I did not engage in political discourse. Had I done so, I would have disclosed the details."

He criticized Union Minister Piyush Goyal’s claim that the Karnataka government’s pursuit of its rightful tax share is an act of "pettiness," stating, "He ought to feel embarrassed about such a statement. He should grasp the workings of governance in this nation before issuing such remarks."

Regarding the caste census report, he clarified, "No one is hindering its execution. Internal discussions remain to be finalized before it can be unveiled to the public."

On the postponement of the cabinet meeting, he explained, "The Chief Minister postponed the gathering due to health issues. Nonetheless, a cabinet meeting is now set for February 17 at Male Mahadeshwara Hills to deliberate on regional matters."
