Aizawl, Nov 28 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, emphasized on Friday that the Scout and Guide movement encapsulates essential values such as discipline, self-reliance, service, leadership, and character-building, traits that are crucial for India in this time of swift change.
The Chief Minister reiterated Mizoram's unwavering support for the movement, highlighting the commitment of the State's schools, communities, and government to enhance youth development and cultivate young individuals who lead with integrity.
The event marked the 60th anniversary of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, along with the 19th National Jamboree, held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
During the closing ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, President Droupadi Murmu addressed the audience at the 19th National Jamboree.
At this event, Lalduhoma was honored with the Silver Elephant Award, the highest accolade within the Bharat Scouts and Guides, recognizing his exceptional service to the movement.
In his speech, Lalduhoma expressed that he felt “deeply honored and humbled” to receive the Silver Elephant Award, viewing it not merely as a personal accolade but as a tribute to the spirit and dedication of the people of Mizoram, a community renowned for its discipline, collective spirit, and voluntary service.”
He conveyed heartfelt thanks to the National Award Committee and acknowledged the relentless efforts of Scout leaders, volunteers, and mentors across India who play a vital role in nurturing the minds of the youth.
Notably, Lalduhoma becomes the eighth individual from Mizoram to be awarded this prestigious national honor, following the late Hrangthanga in 2000, and Lalrosangi in 2017.

With over 6.3 million Scouts and Guides in India, the Bharat Scouts and Guides is recognized as one of the largest Scouts and Guides organizations globally, with more than 2.4 million girls participating in this initiative.
