New Delhi, Feb 5 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a pointed criticism of the Congress party while responding to the Motion of Thanks on the President's address in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. He accused previous Congress-led administrations of demonstrating a lack of vision, thought, and willpower, as reflected in their Independence Day addresses from the Red Fort.

In his remarks amidst ongoing parliamentary discord, including walkouts and protests from the Opposition, PM Modi stated that examining the speeches made by Congress Prime Ministers from the Red Fort would uncover a glaring absence of clear thinking, long-term vision, or the determination necessary for fostering national progress.

He claimed that the nation has borne the repercussions of this outlook for decades, resulting in lost opportunities and economic difficulties.

Expressing heartfelt appreciation to the people of India for their trust in him, the Prime Minister mentioned that a considerable part of his government's efforts has been directed towards addressing the shortcomings and legacy challenges left by former administrations.

He stressed that this corrective endeavor has been coupled with a strategic shift towards policies designed for the future, moving away from ad-hoc decision-making to structured, policy-driven governance.

This shift, he asserted, has restored confidence both domestically and internationally, resulting in heightened trust in India from other nations.

Prime Minister Modi underscored the guiding principle of his government—reform, transform, perform—stating that the country is now firmly on the "reform express".

He pointed to extensive reforms in structural frameworks and sectoral policies, aimed at enhancing value throughout agriculture, industry, services, infrastructure, and technology.

According to him, these initiatives have positioned India to compete effectively on the global stage across all sectors, from trade and innovation to defence and diplomacy.

These comments were made during a period of disruption in the Budget Session, where Opposition members protested over procedural matters in the Lok Sabha, leading to adjournments and limiting PM Modi's ability to deliver his complete response on Wednesday.

In the Rajya Sabha, despite some initial disruptions, the Prime Minister managed to detail the achievements of the Union government and its forward-looking agenda, sharply contrasting it with what he characterized as the policy paralysis and short-sightedness of the Congress era.
