Patna, Oct 24 (NationPress) With the political landscape of Bihar heating up for a significant showdown between the NDA and the INDIA bloc, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off the election campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party today by honoring the legacy of Bharat Ratna late Karpoori Thakur in Samastipur, his birthplace.

Modi is scheduled to hold two major public rallies in the state, beginning with the first in Samastipur at 12:15 p.m. followed by another in Begusarai at 2 p.m.

Karpoori Thakur, who was the Chief Minister of Bihar during the 1970s, was posthumously honored with the Bharat Ratna, the nation’s highest civilian award, by the NDA government led by Modi this year.

These rallies are pivotal in the BJP's campaign efforts for the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar.

Additionally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to spearhead the BJP’s campaign initiatives, conducting four significant rallies across the state today.

During his speeches, PM Modi is expected to encourage voters to back NDA candidates while delivering a powerful message to the opposition, the INDIA bloc.

This visit marks Modi’s first campaign appearance in Bihar since the election schedule was announced.

He will be in the state twice in October, first on the 24th and again on the 30th, when he will engage with constituents in Muzaffarpur and Chhapra.

In parallel, Amit Shah will also conduct two major rallies today—one in Siwan and another in Buxar.

This will be Shah’s second visit to Bihar within a week, following a previous three-day tour from October 16-18, during which he spoke at a rally in Taraiya (Chhapra).

The BJP’s state leadership has finalized all arrangements for the significant visits of Modi and Shah, with local party units mobilized to ensure a large turnout.

The rallies are anticipated to elevate the political intensity in the state and invigorate the NDA campaign.

Meanwhile, the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) is also preparing for a vigorous campaign.

Karpoori Thakur, a distinguished socialist leader and former Chief Minister of Bihar, is celebrated for his commitment to social justice and the upliftment of marginalized communities. His policies, which included reservations for backward classes, have left a profound mark on the state.

On Thursday, PM Modi launched a fierce critique of the opposition in Bihar, asserting that the people will not forget the era of 'Jungle Raj' for a century.

He emphasized that regardless of the opposition's attempts to obscure past errors, the populace will not forgive.

Modi's remarks coincided with the Grand Alliance’s announcement of Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Ministerial candidate for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Modi characterized the opposition coalition as a 'Lathbandhan' (stick alliance), noting that many of its leading figures—from Delhi to Bihar—are currently out on bail.

While addressing BJP workers during the 'Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot Yuva Samvad' program via audio conference, Modi urged them to remind the youth of Bihar about the grim realities of the Jungle Raj.

'Gather the youth at every booth and invite local elders to recount the atrocities from that period. The people of Bihar must never forget those days,' PM Modi stated.

He highlighted the advancements achieved during the NDA government’s tenure in Bihar, noting that the state is experiencing swift development thanks to stable governance from both the Centre and the state.

'Hospitals are being built, schools are rising, and new railway lines are being established. This progress is attributable to stability and effective governance,' he remarked.

PM Modi expressed confidence that the youth of Bihar are now hopeful and enthusiastic about the state's future, asserting that Bihar has gained momentum under NDA governance.

As he concluded his address, Modi expressed optimism that a new phase of women’s empowerment will commence in Bihar on November 14, following a BJP-led NDA victory.
