The partner nations for this grand event include New Zealand and Saudi Arabia, while Japan, Russia, the UAE, and Vietnam have been designated as focus countries for WFI 2025, scheduled to take place from September 25 to 28 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The inaugural session will feature notable attendees including Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, and Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan.

WFI 2025 is set to showcase over 1,700 exhibitors, attract more than 500 international buyers, and include representatives from over 100 countries. The event will host more than 45 knowledge sessions that will cover thematic discussions, conferences specific to states and countries, along with CXO roundtables featuring over 100 global agri-food leaders.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that World Food India 2025 acts as a strategic platform positioning India as a global food basket.

Responding to an article by Paswan on X, PM Modi stated that this mega event exemplifies cooperative federalism, showcasing how 21 states and Union Territories will contribute to the event with pavilions that highlight their regional strengths.

Paswan further noted that WFI operates through a comprehensive government approach. He stated, 'While our ministry leads, we collaborate closely with ministries across the entire value chain, including Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Fisheries, Commerce, DPIIT, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Health & Family Welfare, AYUSH, DoNER, and related agencies to ensure that production, standards, trade, and investment are aligned.'

He further outlined that WFI’s agenda is built on five foundational pillars: sustainability and net-zero food processing; India as a global food processing hub; advancements in food processing, products, and packaging technologies; processed food for better nutrition and health; and livestock and marine products driving rural economic growth. Each pillar is linked to curated sessions, B2B meetings, and pathways for adoption, ensuring that discussions lead to actionable outcomes.

In addition to major exhibitions and B2B forums, parallel events at WFI 2025 will include the 3rd Global Food Regulators Summit, organized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), aimed at promoting the harmonization of global food safety standards, and the 24th India International Seafood Show, organized by the Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI), to showcase India’s seafood export capabilities.

Moreover, the APEDA will host a reverse buyer-seller meet featuring over 1,000 buyers, alongside special exhibitions at international pavilions, state and ministry pavilions, a Pet Food Pavilion, a Technology Pavilion, and a Start-up Innovation Pavilion.
