Bhopal, March 28 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to launch a significant development initiative in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, featuring projects totaling over Rs 33,700 crore across various sectors including power, energy, transportation, education, and housing.

His visit to the state is scheduled for Sunday (March 30). Prime Minister Modi will start his daylong journey in Maharashtra before arriving in Bilaspur in the afternoon.

In the energy domain, the focus will be on NTPC’s Sipat Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III, an advanced initiative valued at Rs 9,790 crore, marking Chhattisgarh's inaugural Super Critical Thermal Power Project. This project is based on the latest Ultra-Supercritical Technology, ensuring high efficiency in power generation.

Additionally, he will kick off the development of the First Super Critical Thermal Power Project (2X660MW) for Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited (CSPGCL), with an investment exceeding Rs 15,800 crore, according to an official announcement.

PM Modi will also inaugurate three Power Transmission projects under the Western Region Expansion Scheme (WRES), collectively valued at over Rs 560 crore. In alignment with India’s net-zero emission objectives, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) in districts including Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur, and Surguja.

This project entails over 200 km of high-pressure pipeline and more than 800 km of MDPE (medium-density polyethylene) pipeline, along with several CNG (compressed natural gas) dispensing stations, totaling over Rs 1,285 crore.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will lay the cornerstone for the Visakh-Raipur Pipeline (VRPL) Project initiated by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), which spans 540 km and is valued at over Rs 2,210 crore. This multi-product pipeline is designed to handle over three million metric tonnes per annum, as per the statement.

Rail connectivity will receive a substantial enhancement with seven new railway projects covering 108 km and three completed projects spanning 111 km, all with a combined investment of Rs 2,690 crore.

The Prime Minister will also launch the MEMU train service in the Abhanpur-Raipur corridor and celebrate the complete electrification of Chhattisgarh's railway network, as indicated in the announcement.

In a bid to improve road infrastructure, PM Modi will dedicate the upgraded Jhalmala to Sherpar section of NH-930 (37 Km) and the Ambikapur-Pathalgaon segment of NH-43 (75 Km) to 'two-laning' with a paved shoulder.

Moreover, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for upgrading the 47.5 km long Kondagaon-Narayanpur section of NH-130D to two lanes with a paved shoulder. These projects, amounting to over Rs 1,270 crore, are anticipated to significantly enhance accessibility to tribal and industrial areas, fostering comprehensive development.

Education will also be a focal point with the inauguration of 130 PM SHRI Schools across 29 districts and the establishment of the Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Raipur. This initiative aims to modernize education through enhanced infrastructure and data-driven oversight. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin, PM Modi will conduct Griha Pravesh ceremonies for three lakh beneficiaries, symbolizing improved housing conditions and quality of life for rural families in Chhattisgarh.
