Chennai, Dec 3 (NationPress) The President of the Tamil Nadu BJP unit, Nainar Nagenthran, has conveyed his pride and appreciation for the unwavering assistance provided by the Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the farmers in the state.

In his remarks, he stated that it is both heartwarming and historic that since the commencement of the Modi government’s third term in 2019, farmers in Tamil Nadu have collectively benefited from Rs 12,764 crore under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, with each eligible farmer receiving Rs 6,000 annually as direct financial support.

Nagenthran pointed out that this ongoing financial aid has become a vital lifeline for numerous farming families throughout the state.

He also highlighted a significant achievement, noting that through the Jal Jeevan Mission, more than one crore rural households in Tamil Nadu have been granted free drinking water connections in the past six years.

This development, he remarked, has significantly improved the quality of life for millions in rural areas.

Nagenthran stressed that Prime Minister Modi's leadership is founded on the principle that agriculture represents the true essence of any nation, nourishing the world and sustaining countless lives.

The Central Government has made every necessary effort to fortify the agricultural framework of Tamil Nadu, from providing dignified livelihood support to farmers to enhancing rural infrastructure in their communities, he added.

The BJP leader further noted that the Prime Minister's relentless endeavors to uplift the farming sector and promote rural growth have firmly positioned Tamil Nadu on a trajectory of progress.

"No matter how many times we express our gratitude to our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, it will never suffice," he remarked, acknowledging the Centre's ongoing commitment to the welfare of farmers.

Nagenthran also emphasized that the Modi administration’s focus extends beyond direct financial support to include long-term structural reforms aimed at boosting farmers' incomes and resilience.

He mentioned initiatives such as the significant modernization of irrigation systems, the promotion of micro-irrigation, increased procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP), and the enhancement of crop insurance coverage through the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

These initiatives, he asserted, have provided greater stability to farming households affected by unpredictable weather and market changes.

He further claimed that Tamil Nadu's agricultural sector is experiencing renewed confidence due to the Centre's proactive strategy.
